Experience Williamsburg’s past like never before at the brand-new Campbell Archaeology Center. Step inside to see where history comes to life through ongoing discoveries and hands-on research. Explore our state-of-the-art laboratories and collection spaces, where artifacts from centuries past are studied, conserved and interpreted. Get an up-close look at remarkable finds that reveal the lives of the people who lived and worked in colonial Virginia. This behind-the-scenes experience brings archaeology into focus, showing how every excavation and artifact connects the past, present and future of Colonial Williamsburg. Tours begin in the Campbell Archaeology Center Atrium. Each tour is limited to 15 guests, with sign-ups available beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Campbell Archaeology Center. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early, as spaces may be released to other guests shortly before the tour begins. Not recommended for children under 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
