Meet a Person of the Past: Jane Vobe
March 19 at 7:00 PM EST
Jane Vobe was a successful tavern keeper in colonial Virginia, operating one of Williamsburg’s most popular establishments during a time when few women owned businesses. Her tavern served as a hub for food, drink, news, and political conversation on the eve of revolution. If given an opportunity to meet Jane Vobe, what would you ask her about her experiences and challenges as a woman on the eve of the American Revolution? In honor of Women’s History Month, join Sharon Hollands who researches and portrays Jane Vobe as a Nation Builder with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. During this program, learn more
about the daily lives of women through the lens of Jane’s life and story. Participants will receive 1.0 professional development hour for attending this session. For more information, please contact [email protected].
