Raleigh Concert: Musical Moments from the 1770's
In the years leading up to the Revolution, Williamsburg’s musical life flourished with numerous ballad operas performances and multiple imports of European music for citizens to enjoy. On November 13, 1771, a public concert was held in the Apollo Room of the Raleigh Tavern, featuring Nancy Hallam, Maria Storer, and Stephen Woolls.
Join the Governor’s Musick ensemble as they reimagine this historic Williamsburg concert and the musical moments the city experienced in the 1770’s.
You’ll also have opportunities to join the music-making by singing along to well-known tunes of the time!
