Step into the Making Music in Early America exhibit with the Governor's Musick's Kyle Collins for a night of gothic-flavored music on the organized piano, a hybrid keyboard instrument that combines the delicate timbres of the piano with the imposing presence of the organ.
Horace Walpole's Castle of Otranto, the "original gothic horror novel," was sold in Williamsburg through the Virginia Gazette in 1771. This book inspired a trend of 18th-century stories of horrid adventures through the supernatural, with music used to portray the innocent protagonist against the discordant villain.
Parking near the Art Museums is recommended. If you plan to park at the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, please check the bus schedule.
